Marianne Flickinger

My Story

With over 40 years of experience in public education, Marianne Flickinger brings a wealth of knowledge, compassion, and real-world experience to her work with children, adolescents, and families. Her professional journey has included roles as an elementary teacher, elementary school counselor, and district-level administrator, providing her with a unique understanding of children and families across educational, emotional, and community settings.

Throughout her career, Marianne has developed a particular passion for helping children and families navigate trauma, grief and loss, crisis, and significant life transitions. She has pursued extensive training in these areas and has developed a broad range of resources and strategies to support individuals and families during some of life’s most challenging moments.

Marianne’s background in education and counseling allows her to see the whole picture of a child and family—their relationships, school experiences, emotional needs, strengths, and the circumstances that may be affecting their well-being. She understands that when a child is struggling, the entire family can be impacted, and that meaningful support often involves working collaboratively with parents, caregivers, schools, and other professionals.

An important part of Marianne’s work is helping families connect with community resources and additional supports that can complement the therapeutic process. Her decades of experience within schools and communities have given her an extensive knowledge of available resources and a strong understanding of how to build collaborative networks around children and families in need.

Marianne approaches her work with warmth, compassion, and respect for each individual’s unique story. She believes that people can find strength and resilience even in the midst of difficult experiences, and she strives to provide a safe, supportive environment where children and families feel heard, valued, and understood.

Bringing together decades of educational leadership, counseling experience, trauma-informed training, and community knowledge, Marianne is honored to continue her commitment to helping children and families navigate trauma, grief, loss, crisis, and life’s transitions with support, understanding, and hope.
